This is a film that despite its irreverent stupidity has my heart.  Probably because it’s so close to the inadequacy most people are feeling on account of a media machine that alienates them.  I guess when you watch this film you really take into consideration how easy it is for just about anyone to lose themselves in the darkness of fame and fortune even if they themselves are not famous.  An interesting dissection of celebrity culture and the monster behind it.  Ultimately it’s a film about life choices and being happy doing what you want to do with whom is right for you or being successful with all the wrong people in your life.  The film centres around one character who really is an idiot but he’s also the a mirror image of the average lay trying to find his place in the world–even if it isn’t who he is deep down.   It’s not a film I would go on and on about, but, it is something worth renting and spending a night with to mull over a few insecurities and feel better about life afterwards.  It’s funny and in a strangely uplifting by the end.  Hope you all enjoy.
